The smell in the air that hangs after the storm
Is the one that I fear the most
The fragrance is pleasant and everything's clear
But cause hangs in the air like a ghost
To melt two souls and then rip them apart
With the force of a hurricane
Then you flip the polarity the sides push away
A struggle conflicting my brain
Leave an empty air pocket, A soul with a void
The void has a soul of its own
And its fighting to make me become a void too
So it will not be alone
The names of the girls that I wish I could love
Could cover the expanse of a hall
But the truth is I feel so emotionally numb
What if I can't love at all
The smell in the air that hangs after the storm
Was the last thing I could smell
When I spun and became a destructive force
Condemning the girls to my hell
The hurricane leaves pain in its path
And piles of useless debris
The hurricane has no future or past
The hurricane is me
The firework's fast and then fade away
The burning is always bright
Firecrackers flash and firecrackers die
With a crowd looking on in delight
The girl is many, the girl is one
The girl is innocence
The girl is only collateral damage
The girls are fickleness
I often wonder what a miner would think
If supports start to crack and give
Would he spare a thought to the dying world
That he passed on to his kids
If I could confront my opposing thoughts
And settle them once and for all
Who’d be the one that fades away
Would I still be feeling so small
All I can do is keep going forward
And hope I can unravel my brain
Find a winner in a conflicted life
And a girl for my hurricane
